Since 1932, Bashas' has donated more than $100 million to local charities. Thousands
of Arizona schools, churches and non-profits have benefited from the generosity
of our company, our members and our customers.
We concentrate our charitable efforts on community causes that address education,
hunger, family and children.
Here are some of our major community involvement endeavors:
Charity of the Month
Customers have an opportunity to give back to a local non-profit just about every
month in a Bashas' store — whether it be donating food or making a donation
at the register. This kind of fundraising has garnered more than $500,000 for local
children's hospitals and local chapters of the Boys & Girls Clubs, Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation and American Heart Association.

Annual Food Drives
Bashas' holds two major food drives — a Summer Sack Lunch Drive in the summer
and a Turkey Tuesday Drive during the holiday season. With help from our customers,
we've contributed more than a half a million pounds of food, providing meals for
those in need. Both drives are a major boon for St. Vincent de Paul and local food
Community Support Card
Bashas' Community Support Card is a great way to generate funds for your organization.
Here's how it works:
- Your organization purchases the Community Support Card and receives a 6% discount.
The Community Support Card offers your supporters a choice where to shop, as it
is accepted at all Bashas', Food City and AJ's stores.
- Your organization then sells the Community Support Card to supporters at face value
and receives a 6% profit.
- Your supporters can reload their Community Support Card at Bashas', Food City and
AJ's Fine Foods stores and your organization will earn 6% of the reload amount.
- Earnings from reloaded Community Support Cards will be distributed once a month.
- To get your organization enrolled, simply submit a letter with your organization's
name and address stating your interest in participating with our program, plus a
copy of the notice from the IRS stating that you are registered as a charitable
organization under IRS code section 501(c)3 to:

Bashas' has partnered with local government agencies and chambers of
commerce to support and promote a variety of public awareness and safety
campaigns, in addition to celebratory city and state milestones.
If your organization is interested in a partnership with Bashas'
Family of Stores please fill out and return our Charitable Sponsorship Request Form.
Bashas' supports a few select walk/run fundraisers every year. These partnerships
are unique, as our vendors provide product donations for each event in exchange
for on-site presence and recognition at the Bashas' and/or Food City tent.
AJ's Fine Foods provides a variety of event sponsorships through
cash and product donations in exchange for onsite and media exposure.
Food City supports a large number of community- and family-oriented events.
This covers everything from hosting soccer tournaments featuring dozens of teams,
to local Easter Egg Hunts, culinary festivals such as Tamale Fest and concert
series reaching thousands of individuals and families.
Community Need Response
In times of tragedy or intense public need, all store formats have the ability
to add point-of-sale donations to support a particular need or organization.
A good example of that is fire relief in Arizona. Annually, fire season can be
devastating to communities, and Bashas' Family of Stores has implemented unique point-of-sale
donation options to support The Salvation Army in their relief and support efforts to those affected.
Since 1932, our Bashas' members and retirees, along with their families and friends,
have volunteered countless hours to community-based projects. Our volunteers have
helped children learn to read, assembled back-to-school tool kits for United Way,
sorted toys for Salvation Army, served meals to the hungry, and more. If your non-profit

Helping the Environment
Bashas' has many initiatives in place to reduce our impact on the environment. In
fact, we were recycling in Arizona in the 1970s — before it was the "in vogue" thing

Soliciting on Bashas' Property
Out of respect for our customers, Bashas' does not allow soliciting on our store properties. Customers
tell us they would prefer not to be solicited as they enter or exit our stores, and we respect that.
Moreover, Bashas' has a renowned Charity of the Month program (mentioned earlier on this page) that
gives customers at all Bashas' locations the opportunity, via donations at the cash register, to support
one major community charity nearly every month of the year. Naturally, we want to be sure we're giving
each month's designated charity the full spotlight.
While we offer no on-site solicitation opportunities other than our Charity of the Month program, we do
have a Community Support Card program that is open to any charitable organization that is registered with

Bashas' Art Gallery
The Zelma Basha Salmeri Gallery of Western American and American Indian Art at Bashas'
corporate office in Chandler is open to the public, free of charge, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
